If you have a Philips Norleco face shaver and are noticing that it is becoming less effective, you may need to replace the shaving head blades with new ones. These heads contain small blades that dull over time. Philips Norelco recommends they be replaced every 12 months. In this guide I will show you how to install your new replacement blades.

Begin by pressing the small button beneath the head to allow it to open.
-
-
-
Grasp the sides of the head and pull straight up to detach it from the body.
-
-
-
To unlock, rotate the center locking mechanism counter-clockwise.
-
-
-
-
Lift the locking mechanism straight up, freeing the blades.
-
-
-
Carefully push the blades out from behind.
-
-
-
Insert the new blades, making sure to face the side with the two tabs towards the center of the head.
-
-
-
Line up the locking mechanism with the new blades, then rotate the center clockwise to lock down.
-
-
-
Push the head back onto the body, then close it up. Your shaver is good to go!
Thanks so simple with your guide, cause I was really having hard time getting put back together right 👍

This is a good guide thank you.
Replacing these shaver batteries would be a good guide: does anyone know how to do this?
Very well done - better than a video because you don’t need to continually stop, restart and rewind to catch specific details.
The only problem I had was to insert the hinge into the body. Didn't want to push too hard as I was worried I could snap off some plastic parts. Once I had pushed the OLD unit on and off a couple of times the new one went in quite easily ( although the old unit was much more free than the new unit). Many thanks for your instructions - most useful!

How do you change the trimmer blade on back of it ? Or can you ?
Clear and simple tutorial. Excellent!
Uh, how does one reset the cutter life timer? Many Norelco shavers have an annoying beep after so many hours of shaving to demand the cutters be replaced. Guessing the instructions in the new cutters say how to reset but that means I would have to purchase new cutters.
Finally found the manual for my Series 8000. To reset the cutter life timer hold the power button for 7 seconds when turning the razor off. To lock the razor (for travel perhaps?) hold the power button for 3 seconds. Then 3 seconds at your destination to turn it on the first time.
What I have learned is if I go to the store (Walmart usually) , I find that the replacement shave blades and the replacement batteries cost more than buying a whole new razor. What's wrong with this picture.?
I need to order #HQ56 replasments blades and cannot find the area to do that--Lynn Silsbee
