Use the guide to replace both or one of your broken or wasted thumbsticks in your Xbox Series X controller.
The thumbsticks are the central part of the controller that allows for most of your in-game movement. A wasted or broken thumbstick could reduce your performance for some of your favorite games.
Before using this guide, make sure to ensure that your thumbsticks are the ones wasted or broken because if it is stick drift, then this is not the correct guide for you to follow.

Move the tool repeatedly along the seam between the two plates until the side plate is wholly disconnected from the front plate.
I find it easier to go from the back by the side of the battery compartment. That seems to work better with the positioning of the clips for removing the cover.
I agree with MaFt; the side approach seems to give a lot more resistance than the back approach. I also recommend going at it from the side of the battery compartment.
