Flip the clock over to expose the battery cover shown in the top left corner.
-
-
-
Remove the battery cover by gripping the grooves with your thumb and sliding the cover in the direction the arrow is pointing.
-
-
-
Carefully push the battery towards the spring, creating a space to grab the battery and pull it out. Safely discard the old batteries.
-
-
-
Turn the clock over and remove the 1cm screw with a Philips head screwdriver, which is located below the faceplate, on the bottom of the clock.
-
-
-
Begin to pry the front screen off gently with a Jimmy tool made by Ifixit.
-
-
-
-
Once you are able to create a space in between the device and the front screen, use your hands to continue to pry off the screen. Make sure that all the mini latches surrounding the perimeter have been unlatched, allowing the screen to come off easily.
-
-
-
Once you have undone the latches and pried off the first half of the screen, use your hand to pull off the rest of the screen.
-
-
-
First, remove the front screen. (See prerequisite screen removal guide.)
-
-
-
Use the plastic opening tool to gently pry the motherboard forward and away from the rest of the device.
-
-
-
Gently lift the motherboard up and out, making sure that you don't disassemble any of the wires in place by pulling too hard.
-
-
-
To fully remove the motherboard from the clock, use wire cutters to carefully sever the connections between the motherboard and the wires attached.
-
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
-
-
-
Follow steps on removing the motherboard as a prerequisite.
-
Gently move the motherboard back, revealing the thin black wire that is the antenna. The antenna wire is, on the outside, located on the lower, middle back. Follow the wire from the outside to the inside to make sure it's the correct one.
-
-
-
Pull the wire up, making sure it's connected to the motherboard from the back side. To replace the wire, cut it completely from the motherboard.
-
-
-
To re-attach the antenna cord to the motherboard, use a soldering tool to connect the wire to the same spot it was originally attached to.
-
-
-
Make sure the wire is securely in place in the correct area of the clock, labeled "antenna" from the outside.
