Remove the watch band.

Use a Tri-point Y00 screwdriver to remove the four 4.0 mm-long screws securing the back cover.
The y000 screw driver is not right. Tip is too long and doesn't engage screw correctly causing them to strip
I found I needed to use a Y00 screw for this.
Confirmed the Y00 is what you need for this step.
Yea, it stripped my screws, now i cant replace my battery i have to buy a whole new watch Y000 is false news

Insert an opening tool into the seam between the back cover and the metal housing.
-
Twist the opening tool to create a gap.
I suggest to work the plastic pry tool between one of the pairs of spurs that hold the wrist bands on. It worked much more easily for me than working at either side of the watch. ~Rufus T. Montgomery

-
Lay the watch face down.
-
Carefully swing open the back cover by folding it to the opposite site of the created gap.

Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up and disconnect the sensor flex cable from the motherboard.

Remove the back cover.
