This guide will show you how to replace the back camera of your HTC Desire 826 device. If your back camera is broken or functioning poorly, this guide will lead you through the replacement steps.
This guide only shows you how to disassemble the device to locate the back camera. To fully replace, you will need a replacement back camera part. You will need to follow the steps in reverse to put the device back together.
To begin this project we recommend that you find a clean, dry, and flat surface to work on.
Note: the images presented show a before and an after picture for each individual step to help you keep track of your progress.

Find a seam in the back of the device.

Insert the plastic spudger into the seam and pry off the back panel.

Remove the 4.0 mm screw above the battery with a T5 Torx screwdriver.

Remove the metal bracket with the tweezers.

Disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard with the tweezers.

Lift the battery with a plastic spudger and remove it from the device.

Use a T5 Torx screwdriver to remove the three 4.0 mm screws.

Use the spudger to lift the black plastic covering.

Use the spudger to lift the green board. The back camera is attached on the side as shown.

Use the tweezers to disconnect and remove the camera.
