    • Use a suction handle to pull the screen display out of the screen casing.

    • If the screen is difficult to remove, use an opening tool to pry the sides of screen from the screen casing.

    • Lift the screen display from the screen casing, hinging it from the top edge to expose the back of the panel.

    • Do not separate the display from the casing completely, as there are still cable connections holding it in place.

    • Detach the connecting cable between the laptop and the display screen.

    • Remove the display screen.

Be careful pulling up the taped cables that lead to the fragile webcam board, which is pressure-fit rather than screwed in. Easy to break, so I would recommend prying up the board before removing the cable.

Thank you for this great guide, been very useful knowing how to remove the screen from th housing! However; I'm looking to replace not the screen but the 'screen housing' as the plastic bracket that the hinges screw into (three round flat screws you can see for each hinge) has torn. Very bad design IMHO. The entire screw/bolt has just torn free (all three) on the right hinge. Seeing as the plastic bracket is glued to the metal casing it is irreparable…

Anybody know where I can get the replacement (my HP Envy has a metal/aluminium housing in silver colour).

Kind regards,

Adrian

i have the exact same problem... how did you resolve this issue?

Elias - crwdns2934203:0crwdne2934203:0

Not sure if either of you solved your problem, but I did see that the support guide provided part numbers for the hinges

(7) Display hinges (2, includes left and right hinges) L93205-001

(8) Display hinge cover (2, includes left and right hinge covers) L93208-001
