The first step to removing the faceplate is carefully moving the opening tool around the edge.

Take your screwdriver with the PH000 Philips head attachment on it and remove the four screws outlined in red.

Remove these two screws and remove the riser that is being held in by the screws.

Gently grab the ribbon with the needle nose tweezers and pull down. This will disconnect the ribbon from the connector.

Now, the motherboard can be removed. Due to the USB connector being on the motherboard, the entire board needs to be replaced.

How can this be the last step to replacing the charging port? You have not established a relationship between the USB connector and the charging port.
