If your flash will no longer pop up and you have followed the troubleshooting steps you can try replacing the spring by following this guide. This can be a complicated process though, so make sure you have tried other options first.

(1) Between step 5 & step 7 you should have remove the 2 screws under the flash pop up.
(2) Wish you had a closer view of the spring installation.
The flash appears to be a chronic problem with my Fuji camera. I have had it for repair with agent 3 times already! Repairs have cost more than the camera. It has happened again on a brand new flash, so I’m trying to have a look myself to assess if I can repair this issue which seems to be more of a defect in the camera.
Thanks for a great guide…….so, I can see the top of the spring in your demo; but what I would like to see is the other end of the spring…. as from what I can see (on my camera) my spring does not appear to be broken. In fact the technician always says that he reinforced it(?) and I would like your opinion before proceeding .
Thanks a lot
what i dont understand is why to remove the back of the camera?
