Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven 10 mm screws from the back cover.
The order does not matter.

Use the iFixit opening tool to pry off the back cover and remove it to reveal the internal components.
Place the cover off to the side, then grab the circuit board and gently remove it from the front cover.
Be careful when removing the back cover, the components in this controller are loosely attached and can fall out easily.

Gently pull out the buttons by the rubber backing from the top cover.
Be gentle so the buttons don't fall off the rubber back as you pull it out.

The buttons should be on the rubber in order of Y at the top, B to the right, A at the bottom, and X to the left.
