With a screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the strike plate in place.

Replace the damaged strike plate with a new strike plate.

The holes of the new strike plate should align with the holes of the damaged strike plate. If they do not, new holes on the door frame would need to be drilled.

Apply the new strike plate to the frame of the door, and ensure that the strike plate's holes are aligned with the drilled-in holes on the door frame.

Screw in the top screw first, ensuring that the strike plate will remain in place. Then, screw in the bottom screw.

Ensure that the strike plate is not loose by trying to wiggle the strike plate with your hand.

If the strike plate budges, continue screwing in the screws until it does not budge.
