This guide will assist in replacing the battery on a Dell Inspiron 13-7373. This is not very difficult and requires very little removal of other parts of the laptop.

Remove the ten 7.5mm Phillips #00 screws from the bottom of the laptop.

Use an opening tool to remove the bottom half of the case from the laptop.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws holding the battery in place.
After this your MUST carefully unweave very thin black and red wires woven up and down at bottom of battery before the next step!

Pull the plastic tab on the battery cable to disconnect the cable from the battery.

Remove the battery from the laptop.
Before lifting up and trying to unplug the battery, don't forget to move the black&red wire under the routing tabs on the front of the battery out of the way.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
For optimal performance, after completing this guide, calibrate your newly installed battery.
Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.

can you recommend a battery model #? I want to be certain I buy the correct one.
The first step needs to be amended. There are 10 back cover screws including the central one, not 9. Additionally, the battery cable removes outward from the battery, not upward.

I'm told that you should replace the connector cable that connects the battery to the motherboard whenever you replace the battery. However that cable doesn't come with the kit. How do I get that part?
I found that I had to remove the back of the laptop from the touchpad side of laptop first, not the hinge side first as indicated in the pictures.
can you elaborate on that? I can't find any more thorough instruction on removing the backside after the screws have been removed.
On the outer part of the hinges there is 1 clip on each side that also need to be snapped out with the opening tool. You will hear a click noise when they are out.
