Locate the internal battery tray on the side of your camera.

Use your finger or a spudger to gently pry the battery tray out of the camera.

Fully remove the battery tray from the camera.

Remove battery from tray and replace.
These photos show the battery upside-down. The positive goes down, towards the plastic tray, while the negative goes up, towards the open top of the tray.
Thanks, Tom! I first put the battery in the way the photo displayed, and then set the date. When I turned the camera off, then on again, I got the message the date and time needed to be set. Changing to your way solved my problem! Thanks so much!!
