This guide will take you step by step on how to take out the keyboard and touch pad for an ASUS Chromebook. Each step comes with pictures and instructions in order to give you a visual and guide you through the process. Before beginning, it is important to have the tools required as well as saving any data before you make changes to the hardware. Once you have followed all 11 steps to take it apart, you can follow the steps in reverse order to put it back together.

Remove the ten 5 mm silver screws on the back panel.

Remove the back panel.

Remove the black wire connected to the audio card.

Remove the white wire connected to the audio card.

Remove the four 2.54 mm black screws connected to the battery and the speakers.

Take the battery out of the laptop

Remove the black strips that connect to the display.

Pry open the white gate, then disconnect the blue strip.

Pry open the black gate and then disconnect the blue strip.

Pry open the black gate, then disconnect the brown strip.

Remove the two silver screws located in the middle of the motherboard that hold down the copper heatsink.

Remove the heatsink from the motherboard.

Remove the eleven 2.5 mm screws from motherboard/daughterboard.

Remove the four 1.3 mm silver screws from the bottom of mother/daughterboard.

Remove the motherboard and daughterboard.

Remove the six 2.5 mm black display screws.

Remove the two 2.5 mm screws that secure the speakers.

Remove the speakers.
