Background
Sony Alpha NEX-6 was announced in September 2012. It was released between the first and second mirrorless digital camera generations.
What distinguishes this camera from NEX-5N and NEX-5R is that the LCD is not a touchscreen like the first generation of mirrorless cameras. Also, the added XGA OLED electronic viewfinder feature is different from all other models.
Identification
You can identify your Sony Alpha NEX-6 by the model number printed on the top and the model and serial numbers printed on the bottom of the camera near the mounting socket.
