Background
The Oral-B Vitality is an electric rechargeable toothbrush produced by Proctor & Gamble. It is designed to remove plaque from teeth but does not replace flossing. The round shape of the brush is designed to clean each tooth individually. The Oral-B Vitality has 2-dimensional cleaning action, which means the head oscillates and rotates. Many electric toothbrushes have advanced to 3-dimensional cleaning action.
The Oral-B Vitality features a two-minute timer that helps users brush for the recommended brushing time. It includes a non-standard rechargeable battery that required 16 hours to fully charge. The toothbrush can be used for up to five days without being charged. It does not include any LED lights to warn users when the battery needs to be charged. It uses a 49mm x 14mm NiMH battery or a 49mm x 14mm NiCd battery, depending on when it was manufactured.
The Oral-B Vitality toothbrush is compatible with the following replacement toothbrush heads: 3D White, Sensitive Clean, Cross Action, Precision Clean, Deep Sweep, Floss Action, Ortho, Power Tip, and Dual Clean. Proctor & Gamble recommends replacing the brush head every three months or sooner if the brush head becomes worn or loose because of damage.
Identification
The Oral-B Vitality includes an electric toothbrush base that is generally white with blue accents. The brushing head is generally round with may small bristles.
Oral-B uses “Type numbers” to identify their large catalog of electric toothbrushes. Type numbers are usually a more effective way to locate repair and service information for your specific toothbrush.
Note that the packaging or box might also list a Type number, like “Type 3757.” This is the Type number for the charger, not the toothbrush. To learn more about Oral-B Type numbers, visit their support site. The type number (3709) can be found on the bottom of the brush. It has Braun and Oral-B branding on the face of the brush. Depending on when the brush is manufactured, it will either have a newer NiMH battery or older NiCd battery. The battery type should be labeled on the bottom of the brush near the Type number.
