Background
With the Novatel MiFi 2200, users can have access to the Internet with this mobile wireless access point. It can support several users and share its high-speed Internet with others. It has a limit of five Wi-Fi clients, such as laptops, cameras, and other mulitimedia players, but can allow more clients if manually edited on the device configuration file.
The device can be connected to a computer by a MicroUSB connection, but this disables the Wi-Fi, only allowing internet access to one client. The Novatel MiFi 2200 offers 3G Wi-Fi speeds.
Novatel has a few other devices that operate at 4G speeds, but each of these has an electronic display on the front.
Identification
It is about the size of a credit card. At first glance, it looks fairly similar to Novatel’s three other MiFi devices, but there are a few differences. The 2200 has edges that are not as rounded as the 2372, 2352, and 3352 models. Additionally, the power button is the only button on the front of the device, located in the lower right corner, but the 2372, 2352, and 3352 have a trapezoidal shape around the button in a different color.
You can identify your Novatel MiFi 2200 by the model and serial number printed on a white label on the back of the device. The Verizon Wireless logo is printed on the front of the mobile wireless hotspot.
