Background
The Gateway MD2614u first appeared in the market on January 2, 2009. It was only available in black with silver trim. A unique characteristic of this model was that the designers structured the keyboard in a perfect rectangle. Users complained about this feature because it made typing uncomfortable.
The MD73 model replaced the Gateway MD2614u 14 months later. The new laptop had an improved processor that worked quicker and more efficiently than the previous model. It also had a larger storage memory than the MD2614u.
Identification
To identify your computer as a Gateway MD2614u, first check under the screen inside the top case for the "Gateway" logo. Then, check for the model ID (MD2614u), which is located on the underside of your laptop.
