Background
Released in September 1996, the Game Boy Pocket is the second device in Nintendo's Game Boy line. The Pocket is considerably smaller than the original Game Boy, and was designed to be more portable and user-friendly. Although the display remains monochrome (black and white), the Pocket comes in a variety of colors.
Identification
The Game Boy Pocket measures 5.02 (L) × 3.06 (W) inches and has a mostly rectangular shape. The lower-right corner, where the speaker is located, is rounded rather than forming a 90-degree angle like the other three corners.
The lower half of the front casing houses the directional buttons, Select and Start buttons, and the A and B buttons. The LCD screen occupies the upper half of the front.
You can identify the device by the “Game Boy Pocket” logo printed on the bottom-left bezel of the screen. The Nintendo logo is embossed directly below the screen. Model and serial numbers are printed on a label on the back casing.
