The Canon Powershot A70 was released March 15, 2003. It is a 3.2 Megapixel point and shoot camera with a 35-105 mm lens that has 3x zoom. Conveniently, it also has compact flash memory. On the back, it has a 1.5" fixed LCD screen. One distinguishable factor is its size, its dimensions in mm are 101.0 x 64.0 x 31.5 and it weighs 215 grams. The A70 is lighter and smaller than Canon's previous point and shoot cameras. It's most common color is silver.
To determine that the camera is a Powershot A70 all one needs to do is check the camera, it says so on the front. It also lets the owner know that it is a 3.2 megapixel camera, in red font, on the front. The upgrade to the Canon Powershot A70 was the A80, released in October of 2003. It has 4.0 megapixels, is a bit larger, and has a varied angle LCD screen.
