Changing Display and Proximity Sensor

Hi, I have rather a specific issue with this iPhone. It has been given to me as a second use phone and I decided to repair it. From my knowledge the display is a third party item (LCD I think), the touch is likely dead (unresponsive) I do not think something is wrong with the flex cable itself as it seems undamaged to me. And also the connector at the end of the flex cable for Proximity Sensor has 2 pins chipped off.

My question is. Is it worth it to try and bring to a working state? Would buying a new Proximity Sensor fix the unresponsive display? The FaceID?

Thanks for any reply.

A new proximity sensor won’t fix an unresponsive touchscreen. The touch issue is more likely the third-party display, its flex cable, or the connector on the logic board. I’d test with a known-good compatible display first.

The damaged proximity sensor flex may affect proximity functions, and if the damage involves the original TrueDepth/Face ID components, Face ID may also be affected. Don’t replace those parts blindly; identify exactly which connector is damaged and test each issue separately before spending more money.
