Turntable loss of power

My turntable has lately started to lose power at random. It happens both if it is playing a record or simply spinning idle: after few minutes, it simply goes off and for some time I cannot switch it on.

The plug and cable seem fine. Given it happens also spinning idle, I guess it is not related with the preamplifier or the connection to speakers.

Any suggestion?
