Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con 2 controllers.

ZL Button Spring not working

I am trying to reassemble the left Joycon 2, and when I want to attach the ZL button, it feels like the spring is not doing its work. The ZL button is really steady and almost rubbing the button, so with a little touch it will press it.

Update (09/28/26)

Hello,

I was changing the covers. At the end I found the issue. The flex was not seating well on the support. From the top it looked like it was in the support, but I saw it sideways and it was not. This is why the ZL button was almost touching the button.

Hi!

Please follow this to step 13: Joy-Con 2 (Left) Joystick Replacement

Could you show us how the spring look like?

What is the reason you opened it? Is another shell used or is this a cover that you have put on?

I know that some shells do not fit completely and could cause this as well.

Thanks!
