@twinklestar best case scenario is that you have a failed screen. To replace it and since iFixit does not yet have any specific guides for that, use something like this video Replacement LCD's are readily available at many online stores.
Worst case scenario is an issues with the video circuitry on your motherboard. Start by replacing the screen first.
While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit.
