Thanks for the reply. Its a 2012 A4 Quattro Avant S-line 2.0 113,000 miles. Spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced last month. Timing chain and fuel pump were replaced at 75k. Brake rotors and pads replaced. Always consistent oil changes and the maintenance recommended at the dealership. Control arms and bushings all replaced maybe 2 months ago. It has a high flow air filter. I got a cheap little scanner and it showed idle lean at bank 1? The check engine light did come on for part of a drive maybe 2 months ago. When I got the control arms replaced at a mechanic I asked them to check what it was and they just said it was nothing and reset it.

@andrewmaye14581 idle lean at bank 1 could have been something like a codeP2187 Tht would mean that the oxygen sensor is detecting to much air compared to fuel, but only when the throttle plate is closed. On your Audi this could be related to a ruptured PCV diaphragm, a blown rear main seal or a stuck EVAP purge valve.

You could check your PCV valve while your engine is idling try to take the oil cap off. If there is a large amount of vacuum fighting you and sucking the cap down, and the engine starts stumbling badly or squealing when you pull it off, your PCV valve has failed and needs to be replaced. If it is your rear main seal then you should see engine oil dripping at the point where the engine and transmission meet. Just some ideas to look at while you hopefully repeat the scan and get a code pulled off.

Ok I will test out the oil cap being sucked down when it is on. And look for any oil drips around that area. I haven't ever seen any leaks from it. It does burn oil. I keep oil in the back and put a quart in maybe twice a month. It use to be once a month but my work switched my location and i now drive 80 miles a day so its needing to be filled more often. I can get ahold of a more indepth scanner next week so ill check it out again and put the code on here. Thank you very much for some ideas.
