@austuriface this will depend on how yellow your screen is. If it looks like a smoked yellow, it will be the backlight. The HPL1710 uses CCFL backlight. Aging CCFL tubes will create a yellow screen. Replacing the CCFL tubes will remedy this.
If the screen is a bright yellow and adjusting the colors in your menu does not change it then the issue is most likely the main board. Having worked on this monitor model a lot, my money is on the CCFL tubes. It will help if you post some pictures of what your screen actually displays. That way we can be 100% certain.

Have you tried connecting a different , known, working vga cable to the monitor and checked if the display is OK?
Have you tried connecting the monitor to a different computer to check if the problem is the monitor or the first computer?
