@claudialee this indicates that Windows has detected a failure during boot. This can be caused by corrupted system files, a failed Windows update or bad boot configuration. Of course, a bad drive (HDD or SSD) can also cause this.
You can try to use the Lenovo Recovery via the Novo button
Turn off the laptop completely.
Locate the Novo button — a tiny pinhole on the left side of the IdeaPad 330-15 (usually positioned near the headphone jack or USB ports).
Insert a straightened paperclip into the pinhole and press gently until you hear/feel a small click.
The laptop will power on to the Novo Button Menu. Select System Recovery or Troubleshoot
Choose your Windows account, enter your password if prompted, and let Windows automatically scan and repair boot files.
If it finishes and restarts successfully, you are good to go.
If it still does not work, try to repair the Boot files via the Command Prompt:
From the same Advanced options menu, select Command Prompt.
Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
sfc /scannow
chkdsk c: /f /r (assuming the c: is the drive letter that contains your Windows files. Also, and this is very important, if chkdsk finds numerous unrepairable bad sectors or if the drive makes clicking sounds during boot, the internal drive may be physically failing.
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
Close the command prompt window and restart the laptop.
Now, if this still does nto work try this:
Safe Mode: Go to Troubleshoot ==> Advanced options ==> Startup Settings ==> click Restart, then press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode. If it boots into Safe Mode, uninstall recent Windows updates or third-party antivirus software.
Reset This PC: Go to Troubleshoot ==> Reset this PC. Choose Keep my files to reinstall Windows while preserving your personal documents.
