Mayer is right. You can install SSD in your mentioned MacBook model. It's more than 3-5 seconds difference in most applications performance and operations including boot up time.
Besides, you can either use optibay (put an ssd for the OS+Apps and your other HDD in the SuperDrive slot, if you don't need it).
