Service code Washing machine Indesit Wib111

Hi, may I ask if anyone knows what this service/error code means?

After a power outage, I wanted to continue the washing cycle. The washing machine would not start. I reset the program by holding the START button for a long time. The washing machine lit up all the LEDs. Then they turned off and nothing happened.

Exactly 20 minutes later, the pump starts running and the LOCK LED begins flashing rapidly, while the RAPID WASH LED flashes a little more slowly. After 5 minutes, the pump stops, but the LED combination keeps flashing in the same way.

There should be two hidden diagnostic LEDs on the inside of the control panel. They are not flashing.

The door lock is working — verified.
The motor works.
The heating element works.
The pressure switch works.
The pump works.

I measured continuity with resistance at the output of the temperature sensor.
The tacho generates voltage according to motor speed when the motor is turning.
The relays on the control board are functional.

Everything was tested outside the washing machine wiring.
The electrolytic capacitors have been replaced.
The triac controlling the door lock is fine and was replaced just in case.

What seems strange, however, is that the door lock engages almost immediately after the washing machine is plugged into the mains. This happens because the processor’s control pin sends a signal to the base of the transistor that triggers the triac. The door lock unlocks only if I unplug the washing machine from the mains.

thank you

Hi @petr3946

You said that you tried to reset the washer by holding the Start button operated for a long time is this correct?

The usual way to reset a washer after a power failure is to disconnect the power from the machine and then press and hold the On/Off button for about 30 seconds and then release it and then reconnect the power to the machine and check if it now works OK.

Give that a try and see if it works for your model.

Hi Jayeff, thank you for your help and yes, it it correct. I reseted washer by holding the Start button operated for aprox.5-7s.

I have tried your advice as you described and it does not work. After 30s i released the button. Then i reconnected the power to the machine. The lock locked by itself, then i pressed On/OFF, then Start. Valve opened for a 2seconds, then closed. 20min past, pump started, error code same.

Version of my model is 46464700100.

thank you

@petr3946

Been trying to find a service manual or wiring diagram for the machine but no luck.

I realize that you said that the door dock was working but was wondering if the control board didn't get a signal indicating that the lock was closed.

Bit hard without the wiring diagram but on other washer makes there's either a separate switch in the lock mechanism that operates when the lock has latched that signals the control board that the lock is closed or the control board senses the change in the value of current flowing though the lock operate coil when the lock has latched securely. Usually a switch around the coil.

Since the machine was operating when the power failure occurred most likely the problem is in the control board.

Are there any visibly obvious components damaged on the control board I know you've replaced the capacitors and the motor triac is OK but it could be another component that is the problem.

There are no burnt components on the board. I replaced the triac, electrolytic capacitors, and ULN2003. The door lock has 3 terminals: L1, N, and when the lock is engaged, L2 which goes further to the control unit. The processor receives a signal that the lock is locked, along with some peripheral power supplies. There is no coil there...

The problem is that the processor sends a signal to transistor Q015, which opens the lock/motor triac as soon as I plug the washing machine into the mains. It shouldn't do that. The higher voltage from the processor (pin 30) is 3.3V and lasts only 2 seconds. Then it drops to 2.7V. The higher 3.3V also appears when I press ON/OFF, or RESET (long press of START).

I tried grounding this voltage with a 1kΩ resistor between B and E, so that the lock wouldn't engage when plugging the machine into the mains (the transistor wouldn't have sufficient voltage).

During the Spin (fast spin) program, after plugging the machine in, the lock doesn't engage on its own — I press ON, START, close the door, the lock engages and the motor immediately starts a very fast spin (max RPM) for 2 seconds, then the speed gradually drops to the normal speed of the Fast Spin program (which is slower than the maximum). When I select the Wash program, it starts filling with water, then the motor spins up fast and again the speed drops to slow, as if the laundry is tumbling and soaking in the drum. And occasionally it spins up to max again.

So the machine is capable of running a proper program. Apparently the memory is not corrupted. But something is telling the unit to send a signal to the transistor base already when the machine is powered on. The 12V and 3.3V supplies are very stable even under load.

i have attached the schematic above.

Here is the schematic, which I had to partially redraw to match the actual layout on the board. Green dots — these components are not present on the board. Black thick drawn jumper — an actual trace on the board. Question mark next to the capacitor — could not find it. X at the end of a trace — could not find where it continues. Red dot next to the triac — lock + motor triac.

The upper connectors are: J005 temperature sensor + valves, J008 tacho + motor, J004 lock + pump, J001 heating element + N, L. J006 pressure switch (3 wires: 1, 3 and 5), J010 front panel (5 wires). J007 is the service connector.
