My iPod wont play any music! Speaker and Audio Jack issue...

First off... My iPod isnt playing any music. I continuiosly press the play button but music doesnt start playing. The timer of the music stays on 00:00. I also cant here anything coming from the internal speaker when using the iPod touch 2G without any headphones connect to it. Last but not least... I cant hear anything as well when having my earphones plugged in to the iPod.

Can anyone give me some advice and what to do to resolve these issues? Thanks.

I sent mine back to Apple because of this and they told me is it was not covered by the warranty because it was damaged by misuse. I got it back and was looking at it one day and noticed there was some lint in the docking connector. I took a piece of paper and folded it and got the lint out. Then the speaker started working! The lint must have been shorting something out, not sure it this is some freakish thing or not, but make sure your connector is clean.. Numerous people have told me this solved their problem, so now I am 'spreading' the word!!

I think it's a coreaudio bug, the APIs are not responding.

Try with (as said before) the software restore, http://www.apple.com/iPhone/how-to/index...

Well, you could first try a reboot- hold down the home button and the sleep/wake button together until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears.
