Lightening Connector Assembly - missing mic?

Hello,

I am looking at buying the below part from IFIXIT.com to fix an iPhone 13 model A2484 to fix a non-functioning microphone. The problem is that I see the pic on the iFixit store only showing a single microphone and an image of the same cable (theoretically) on Amazon showing two microphones. Does anyone know why iFixit isn't showing both mic's? There are supposed to be 2x mic's at the bottom on this cable. I have heard iFixit has higher quality parts so I was trying to avoid Amazon if I can.

iFixit product:

See mic locations (at least where I thin they are) below:

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The iFixit part has both microphones. The picture on their sales page shows the assembly with a fold in it, so the microphone isn't where you're looking for it. It's peeking out from behind the flex cable in the back side picture here.

I've marked where it is on the front side in this picture.

If that part of the flex cable were unfolded, it would look just like the Amazon picture you have.

Thank you so much! I totally missed that!

This is my first time using iFixit and this may be a dumb question, but is there a way to verify these parts are OEM or at least higher quality then the chinese Amazon generic parts?

@m3atwad The only thing I can guarantee is that they are *not* genuine Apple OEM parts. Apple will only sell parts to authorized Apple dealers, and, with the advent of the self repair program, directly to the end user, but no one else. So it is not possible for iFixit to get genuine Apple parts (at least, not from Apple), so unless the parts listing states otherwise, you can assume it's an aftermarket part.

That being said, the quality of aftermarket parts varies wildly. In my experience, everything I've seen tells me that iFixit does their best to source the best quality parts they can get; that should be evident by the fact that most of them have lifetime warranties, which you can't do with cheap parts.

So no, other than testimonials there is no definitive way to verify that iFixit provides better parts than places like eBay, Amazon and AliExpress. You can email the iFixit Store personnel if you have specific questions about a part, and of course you can always view iFixit's warranty policy.
