Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the third generation Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. Identified by model number CFI-ZCT1W and motherboard model BDM-030.

Faceplate Compatibility with other versions

Hi, I own a V3 Controller and it is the Spider-man 2 variant controller. It has developed stick drift and I am hoping to avoid having to solder anything.

Can I transfer the face plate and track pad plate onto a V5 controller?

If not, will the motherboard and sticks from a V5 fit and connect with internals from a V3?

For reference i have the motherboard serial number BDM-030. Any help is appreciated I would love to keep the livery on this controller if joystick replacement is the only option then that'll have to do. Thank you.

Hi!

Yes that is possible, but you do need the EXACT same model. Also the motherboard must match with each other.

It could be a little difficult, if you buy a incorrect model it just won’t fit as it should be.

Also another option would be to bring to a local repair shop and ask them to solder new hall effect sticks in.

Please let me know how it goes :)
