Pokemon Go+ will not power on

My Pokémon Go + will no longer power on or take a charge.I recently had some water spill on it. It didn’t seem like a significant amount, but I’m not sure if that damaged the catcher or if I potentially overcharged it by leaving it on my car phone charger. I’ve tried to replace the battery but had no success. Any idea on what to do next?
