The “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) – Code 43” error usually appears due to driver corruption, power issues, or a damaged USB port. Since you recently installed an SSD, first check if any internal cables were disturbed. In Windows, open Device Manager → Universal Serial Bus controllers → uninstall the “Unknown USB Device,” then restart your laptop to reinstall drivers automatically. Also update chipset and USB drivers from your laptop manufacturer’s website. Try disabling USB selective suspend in Power Options. If only one port (near the audio jack) fails, it may be physically damaged and require hardware repair or port replacement.

Just clarifying when you say "....it wont let me plug in USB devices....", do you mean that they won't physically plug in (damaged connector?) or that USB devices can be plugged in OK but just don't work?

@jayeff It just wont work. It detects that theres a device plugged in but it will say "Unknown USB descriptor request failed". Sorry for my bad grammar and "unpunctual" replies

@stormchase86098 Did it work before you installed the SSD? Bad data lines either on the port or on the motherboard can be causing this.
