Ps5 not reading discs

Hi. My ps5 wont read any discs from the beginning but now i wanted to solve the problem. I changed the whole drive but still he’s saying, can’t read the disc because the disc is not clean or something. After changing the drive, still trying to read the disc but also again give the message he can’t read the disc.

Hi!

Did tou transferred your original (from the old drive) PCB to the new drive? This should always be done.

Can your PS5 read blu-ray movies??

How many games did you test?

I would personally replace the laser deck only.

You can follow this: PlayStation 5 Optical Drive Laser Replacement (till step 38).

It’s possible that the replacement drive is faulty too. I would return it and get a refund. Then try a new laser deck.

Please let us know how that goes!

I transferred the pcb from the original. It doesn’t read anything. After 2 minutes it says, can’t read disc, clean the disc (something like this).

I tested 2 disc games. It does the same.

Will a hard reset of the software help? Is this something of the software?

Nope, usually it’s the hardware. I’m afraid your replacement drive is faulty too. I would return thr broken drive and get yourself a new laser deck and try again.

You can try to format it (make a backup first), but most likely this won’t solve it :(…

Hi. I changed now the laser desk (returned the drive), still same problem. I used the link from the video on youtube. I don’t know what to change now.

Okay. I'm afraid it's related to the drive it's PCB or motherboard now (this is rare, but possible). Unfortunately, it's not possible to replace the PCB. I would bring it to a local repair shop and let them check... Is that possible?
