Second generation of iPhone. Model A1241 / 8 or 16 GB capacity / black or white plastic back. Repair is more straightforward than the first iPhone. requires screwdrivers, prying, and suction tools.

cant talk to anyone but can hear fine...

iPhone was water damaged and killed battery. Everything worked till battery died. Replaced battery and now i can hear if someone calls but they cant hear me... Any suggestions????

It could be that the water damage also knocked out the microphone- does the loudspeaker still work?

everything works on the phone... and yes the speaker phone works but still cant talk on that either

I found my earpiece and it works fine.. only problem is i cant talk on the phone its self any other suggestions?

The reason I ask about the loudspeaker is due to the fact that the microphone and speaker are on one assembly. It could be that the dock assembly got damaged in a way that killed the mic, but not the speaker. Here's a guide for replacing the dock.
