I bought a used phone online and the sim card doesn't work. What can I do?

Does it show "No Sim" even with the sim card inserted? If so the sim reader in the phone might be damaged. Sometimes it can just require bending the pins because they are not making contact with the sim card. Other times it will require replacing the sim reader if the pins are actually snapped. It could also be caused by other issues like the phone being blacklisted or a more serious issue on the motherboard.

It says "no sim"
See if you can look inside where you insert the sim card for any damage. Could also be an issue with the sim tray.

Have you tried placing a new SIM? You may have to go to a carrier to buy a new SIM card.
Please specify whether the SIM slot has a SIM card or not. :)

There are two sim card slots. None works. I have also tried a different card

@perivarmoen This could be an issue with the SIM card slot reader. I'm going to try and find the location of the SIM reader.
Have you tried doing a hard reset to your phone?
