Hi!
Yeah, then they do need to replace the USB-C port. The port is soldered on the board, so if you have no soldering experience, I would let them do it.
60-200$ gap is big. So I would ask them how expensive it precisely is.
Please let us know how it goes!

Hi! Does it still turn on when connected to the power? Will it also turn on, on the battery it self? Could be a faulty battery (not very likely), faulty USB port or motherboard related (which is most likely).

The problem is that the power cord does not stay connected to the steam deck unit - whatever it plugs into must’ve got jostled or broken and even if you hold the power cord in place, the steam deck is not charging. I just called UbreakIfix, they charge $60 for a diagnostic and said it could be as high as $200 if they have to do any soldering.

Hi!
Okay, in this case it DOES sound like a broken USB-C connector. Soldering is required to get this fixed…
Do you have any soldering experience? If not, I would let someone do the repair.
Sorry for the bad news :(

I took it to one of those uBreakiFix stores. They said that the charging port had been pushed in and will need replaced. The cost of repairs is between $60 and $200.
