How to Update Wi-Fi drivers

Hi. So my Wi-Fi icon would occasionally disappear. Then the internet itself would start to disappear, and restarting the laptop would help at first. Now that doesn't help either, but the wired internet still works. I found out on this forum that I need to update my Wi-Fi drivers. I tried. Automatic/self-update didn't help. Please help me update manually. Repair is expensive for me.....

Im assuming you're running windows?

If so, simply use https://www.asus.com/us/laptops/for-gami...

and download the driver, the load it to a USB drive.

Go back to your ASUS laptop, insert the drive and go to your device manager (make sure to run as administrator)

Find your wifi adapter, and left click on it, and click drivers. there you can find an option to use a file.

Hopefully this helps

Your failure description sounds more like the WiFi module has died. Drivers don't go bad slowly, they stop dead in their tracks.

It is always good to update drivers and you should start on the computer mfg website. If you have to go to the chip mfg website, you will have to get the make/model of the chip or module.

WiFi modules are typically not too expensive and relatively easy to replace. You may even be able to get one with updated capabilities.
