Horizontal Flickering Lines on Sony KD-55XH9505

Hi,

My Sony KD-55XH9505 has developed horizontal flickering lines across the whole screen.

I opened the TV and reseated all ribbon cables on the T-CON board, but nothing changed.

My T-CON board is: 55T41-C05 (AUO).

Question:

Does this issue sound like a faulty T-CON board, or could it be a panel/driver issue?

Thanks!

@christospe57119 horizontal lines are almost never caused by a bad T-con board. The most likely cause for those is the panel. Post some pictures of what your display shows so we can try and help you with this. Adding images to an existing question

Thanks for the quick response. These are not stable lines e.g. Green or Red lines.

I have added a video on my initial post.

A better video that is similar to my problem is this (https://www.reddit.com/r/sony/comments/1...)

@christospe57119 those lines are definitely different since they are not at the same area or even consistent. This could be a signal (data line) issue. You may have to check your ribbon cables for any tears or corrosion.. Clean the ends of the ribbon cables with a pencil eraser. Do you get an actually image or is your TV only displaying what you are showing? Right now the main board is my prime suspect.

@christospe57119 let's try something. Remove the back cover from your TV (if you do not yet have it off already ;-). Disconnect the power cable. Disconnect one ribbon cable that goes the the LCD panel (driver boards). Reconnect the power cable and turn your TV on. What do you see? Next turn the TV off and disconnect the power cable. Reconnect the previously disconnected ribbon cable. Disconnect the other ribbon cable. Reconnect the power cable and turn your TV on. What do you see?
