Phone Not Charging After Screen Replacement By Shop

I had a broken screen replaced by a shop and the phone is not charging afterwards. My wife doesn't know anything about phones and asked me to use a shop as I previously punctured a phone battery and released nasty fumes. The shop are refusing to help so I am trying to get a charge back as I paid by card..

There are a couple reasons why this might be happening.

During the repair, something got stuck in the port and is not letting the charger to go all the way in.
The technician that was working on your phone damaged a ribbon cable or forgot to plug it back in.
If the screen is just black, then you could have just gotten a broken screen.
If you shipped the phone, it might have gotten damaged in the process.
