ac adapter error with annoying beeps
so i had this laptop lying around in my house, and i said "why not make this laptop useful again?"
i got the laptop, plugged it in and i am greeted with an annoying alarm beeping sound with an ac adapter error. the beeping was very loud too!
there also was no operating system, so i decided to install linux mint, which was slow, but that doesnt matter. the beeping stops when it boots into an os by the way.
the error message is this:
"
The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined.
The battery may not charge.
The system will adjust the performance to match the power available.
Please connect a Dell 45 W AC adapter or greater for the best system performance.
"
i was using a third party adapter. later, i plugged in an official dell 45w ac adapter, as it suggested, and the same error happened.
any help would greatly be appreciated!

Hi @daftrio
Since Linux works OK try running a upower or acpi command to check the status of the battery
