The Nintendo 3DS XL 2015, marketed as the New Nintendo 3DS XL, was released October 11, 2014 in Japan and February 13, 2015 in North America.

Why wont the console boot no matter what I do

i have been trying to repair a new 3ds xl for a few days now and every time i try to test it i get a blue light, the bottom screen flashes for a second, then the console turns back off. every time i have attempted to turn it on. i have checked all of the ribbon cables and everything im honestly about to just write it off as unfixable. does anyone know potentially how to fix it?

Hi!

When the bottom screen flashes, it's having issues with the upper screen. OR it's flex cable is not fully in/connected or it's damaged.

I encountered this issue many times and sometimes I had to fix it with a new screen.... The issue is somewhere in the ribbon cable (sometimes you are unable to see it with the eye).

So, are you like 100% sure that it's fully in?? When it's not fully in the connector, it will give you this issue straight away.

If you are 100% sure, then you need to replace the screen!

think is that i know the screen works since i had tested it on another system that had a wonky mobo, so the screen should be fine theoretically.

Okay, and you are sure it’s not the motherboard it self? Otherwise, try that screen again on a different motherboard and see if the issue is still happening. You can try to replace the camera, and speaker (with cable) as well.

So far in my experience, when the screen flashes for like 1-2 seconds, and then turning off, is the opposite screen that didnt flash the culprit. And usually it’s not connected properly OR have a broken ribbon cable :(…
