Sadly, this series had a lot of flex cable issues. The most common is the stage light effect as some of the backlight LEDs wouldn't lite as there string trace would get damaged.
The other issue was the chin area just under the display area would get pressed in by an object crushed between the upper case and the display severing the displays driver lines flex from the T-CON board within the uppercase.
And another fault is similar to the damaged chin plate cutting into the ribbon cables, here the metal oxide traces within the LCD it's self get damaged as the chemical processing makes the LCDs glass base brittle where the traces sit so the face of the display looks fine but micro fractures in the base or even a hard break can cause stripes as well as incomplete images.
