Nintendo's first 3DS handheld device released February 2011, identified by model number CTR-001.

Original 2011 3ds part called ctr ir 01 came off

I accidentally dropped my 3ds on the floor after moving my arm and a part detached from the motherboard called ctr-ir-01. Does anyone know how to put it back and what it does.

Do I even need this part and do I solder it or something.

This board is for Infrared signals. It is not necessary and you should not need to solder. It probably just popped out of the connector. There's a little connector on the underside of that board that should pop into the connector in the board you pictured labelled P24
