Repair and disassembly information for Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-cancelling over-ear headphones.

XM4 stopped powering on — still works with 3.5mm.

My Sony XM4 suddenly stopped powering on — no LED, no response even after charging for hours and trying resets.
However, it still works perfectly when plugged in with a 3.5mm audio cable.

I also confirmed there's no issue with the USB cable — tried multiple cables and chargers, still no sign of charging or power.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it likely a dead battery or a charging IC failure?

Good troubleshooting info - and your guess is the most likely the answer.

Disassemble and check battery - most likely

Other than that, it is likely not repairable unless you can find a simple component failure like a diode or transistor.

Hiii!!! I found the issue of the device currently the headphones working without an issue

Ill explain what was the issue so in the charging PCB a IC has blown up so the device detect charger is plugged only when the device is switched on and as i can remembered last time i fully drained the battery and because of the charging PCB IC issue the battery did not start charging

I guess now i might have to replace the charging PCB of the device 😢
