How to check my transmission fluid 2007 jetta

On my 2007 jetta I have secured the car at a jack level. Now I need help locating and checking my transmission fluid

I understand I am suppose to loosen the fill plug and if fluid "drips" out slowly then it's good. But if nothing comes out, then I need to add. Correct?

I'm not sure if you have the same transmission as my '99 bug, but there's a good chance you do. I have a document saved describing how to change the fluid, and at the end is a section on checking the fluid level. Here's the content:

Obviously most of us don't have a VAG-Com scanner, so I assume you'll just want to bring the car up to normal operating temperature by driving it (just idling it probably won't heat up the transmission fluid to normal temperature).

Other than that, you've got the basics of it down already.
