Replaced the HD, but I cannot perform installation

Hi friends,

I just replaced succesfully the HD of my old iBook g4 12".

When using my Mac Os X installation CD, it wont recognize the new HD to perform the installation.

But when I connect it to my MacBook Pro via firewire, I can format and write on the iBook HD.

Should I download any disc image and restore it via fire wire?

Is there anyway I can make the installation program get along with the new hd?

Any help would be appreciated!

First I would format the new drive via Firewire. Do not format GUID, just standard OSX extended. What installation disk are you trying to use?

I've format it as a Ma OS X extended HD.

I'm currently user the iBook g4 Mac OS X intall disk 1.

I know it doesn't sound very well...

Now you should be able to install the system.
