PS4 Controller model CUH-ZCT1. Released in November 2013 by Sony Computer Entertainment, this six-axis, 3.7 V lithium ion battery controller is uncomplicated to repair. (NOTE: Teardown guide is NOT for this model)

Controller won’t power on or charge

To give yall some background context: I tried to solder on some brand new TMR joysticks onto my PS4 JDM-055 controller. After soldering them, it worked for a little bit. I wanted to resolder one of the sticks and I think I shorted the controller. As you assumed it no longer turns on. I don’t know what to do from here on out cause I don’t know where a certified technician in my area would be and I just want my controller to work again.

If any of yall could help that would be much appreciated

Thanks for the pictures! Soldering looks fine.. I would check the motherboard for shorts! Otherwise a replacement is required..

Hi Brody!

Can you share a picture with us regarding the solder work? It's possible that a trace is damaged or the motherboard had too much heat and thus something died on there.

Please check all the cables, solder pads and traces. If nothing is visible at first, then I would replace the motherboard OR you can check for shorts.

So, this should be the part you need: DualShock 4 Controller Motherboard (JDM-055)

Please let us know how it goes!

Hello! Is the controller motherboard authentic?

Hi! No, you can just swap motherboards! But you need the correct model as the original motherboard, otherwise it won't fit or can give issues.
