Automatic Top Feed doesn't work.

The automatic top feed is broken. It will not pull the papers through for printing. There is no paper jam, no dust or anything on any of the rollers or sensors. The feed will just not work with even just one sheet of paper. The gears and rollers in the top section turn by hand. It appears whatever is supposed to be turning them (left front) in the glass top is not working.

Is this repairable and where can you obtain the parts and instructions to fix it?

I did more digging on this and it appears that it wouldn't be worth trying to fix the automatic document feed so I'm going to not worry about it and just do them one at a time.

@ivanyarrow before giving up let's see if our printer guru @nick has a solution for you.

@oldturkey03 Hopefully the rollers are just bad. I'm not including eBay links due to link rot.

If it's the ADF, then the roller is either worn out (unlikely, given they tend to be more durable than the paper rollers in most cases) or there's a broken gear in the ADF assembly on the motor. Check to see if it has major wear on the ADF roller - if it does not, one universal trick is to "trick the sensor" into thinking there is paper inside, but open the ADF and see if the motor functions - if it functions, then the roller is bad - if it does not spin well or at all, the ADF gearbox is broken. It's usually a flag of sorts you can tape down and trick, but it will produce a jam error - cancel the job and clear the condition to clear it. I have found them all over eBay for yours, so they're readily available if worn. While this is for an older model the removal should be close enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwfNMFzg...

If the ADF gearbox/motor has issues, you'll likely need a whole scanner. Unless you have the service manual with the PIN, you can source a NEW scanner out, as you'll need a paired calibration sheet (this is what Lexmark does), or they sell the sheet separate (which means you can buy a used scanner unit and calibrate it to the used unit), unless Epson marries them (which is unlikely, even Lexmark doesn't but they include a scanner specific sheet you need, eliminating the chance to buy a used one as each one is unique). The reason you need the cal sheet, PIN, and SM access is that the function is not user-facing.
