Lost USB dongle-how can I find a part number/buy a replacement?

I can't find any documentation online for a Plantronics Voyager Focus UC Wireless headset base model 203079-01. I've lost the USB dongle that connects to the computer. It looks like Plantronics became Poly. But I can't seem to find any documentation. Hoping someone in this community/forum might have some ideas-THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP !

@mayka ,

I too, was unable to find any actual customer support of any worth on this device, being charitable, I might not have looked hard enough... but a "support" link was noticably missing from the several "official" sites I tried.

Well then... A search on-line for "Plantronics Voyager Focus UC Wireless headset base model 203079-01 replacement Bluetooth Dongle" Got me a number of results including THIS one. However, I am far from sure sure you can just use this one as is; on mice I've found they don't all connect to the same dongle... for fairly obvious reasons (those same reasons apply here too, someone nearby with the same device would then necessarily interfere with you and vice versa) if you think about it.

Perhaps you can ask the seller for the right to return it if it can't connect, as is very likely, and thus enable trying it out?

Maybe someone who knows more about Bluetooth devices than I may offer advice of a way to match them up in some fashion, but I have no knowledge of that...

In theory, too, you can also replace the Bluetooth dongle on your headset with one from another compatible model, such as the BT700 USB dongle... IF... you ensure the new dongle is compatible with your headset for proper pairing. I am again, unable to tell you how to do that other than actually trying the thing though. An (AI) answer to how says:

:Steps to Replace the Dongle

Obtain a Compatible Dongle: If you have a dongle from another Voyager Focus model, it may work, but check for compatibility first.

Pairing Process:

Connect the new dongle to your computer.

Use the Poly Lens application to manage device settings.

Follow the instructions to delete the old device and pair the new dongle with your headset."

There is also THIS dongle that might work, but again the cost $100 in this case is probably not justifiable... IF it works.

It also states the dongles are usually paired with a specific set, and it may or may not therefore work, too, that IF it does it may not work as well as the one that came with the set. In addition it may fail because one has a different firmware version.

I did notice, though, that used sets are available for as little as $5 to $10 USD, which is substantially cheaper than the replacement dongles and going with one of them, you might then mix and match their parts to achieve a decent working set with a source of spare parts should you need them in the future tucked away in a box in the closet perhaps... (this might require getting inside and swapping parts if you wanted to, but probably just swap the cosmetic bits as appropriate for the best looking set with the best ear cushions and so forth.

SO... I'd get the cheapest used pair I can find and just swap out the worn parts with the ones from your beloved pair...

Good Luck

Also, your User manual, should you need it is HERE.

After all that, I remain unsure whether you can get a compatible replacement dongle, the reason is THIS link shows LOTs of them for sale... Maybe contacting the seller(s) would be illuminating as to whether they would work?
